Our story
IN 1992 OUR FAMILY BEGAN AN ADVENTURE AS RESTAURATEURS OF THE TUSCAN CUISINE IN EMILIA ROMANGA REGION. WE ARE ORIGINALLY FROM PISTOIA, A QUAINT CITY IN TUSCANY NEAR FLORENCE.
PORTOVINO BEGAN AS A FAMILY OF FOUR CONSISTING OF MY HUSBAND GRAZIANO, OUR TWO SONS AND MYSELF.
BRINGING THE TUSCAN CUISINE HERE HAS ALWAYS BEEN A DREAM OF OURS FOR MANY YEARS.PORTOVINO RESIDES ON FOUR ACRES IN AN OLD COUNTRY HOUSE WE HAVE RESTORED ON THE SHORES OF THE PO DI VOLANO RIVER, IN THE TOWN OF MASSAFISCAGLIA. THIS LOCATION NEAR THE ADRIATIC SEA BRINGS IN MANY TOURISTS THAT ENTHUSIASTICALLY SING OUR CULINARY PRAISES AROUND THE REGION.
KEEPING IN OLD WORLD TRADITION, OUR FAMILY ACQUIRES ONLY THE FRESHEST TUSCAN PRODUCTS SUCH AS TRUFFLES FROM THE SAN MINIATO MOUNTAINS, PORCINI MUSHROOMS, WILD GAME AND CHIANINA BEEF.
PORTOVINO’S EXTENSIVE TUSCAN WINE LIST CAN PLEASE EVEN THE MOST SOPHISTICATED CONNOISSEUR, FROM OUR CHIANTI CLASSICO TO THE WORLDS FAMOUS SASSICCAIA.
IN FEBRUARY 2008 WE EXPAND OUR FAMILY BUSINESS TO MIAMI, OPENING OUR SECOND LOCATION IN SUNNY ISLES. HERE YOU CAN TASTE EXCEPTIONAL FISH AND BEEF DISHES, AN EXTRAORDINARY HOMEMADE PASTAS, DAILY HOMEMADE BAKED BREAD AND EXQUISITE HOMEMADE DESSERTS BY AUTHENTIC ITALIAN CHEFS.
